Discrimination agains new moms

No matter what our choices are when it comes to how we raise our children, it seems like someone has something to say about it?!

What I do know is there is discrimination against mothers in all directions…Breastfeeding, Bottle Feeding, Working Moms, Stay at home moms, etc… The list goes on and on!

One conversation that NEEDS TO CHANGE is how we as a society view Breastfeeding.  Somehow it is OK to see breasts in every magazine and on huge billboards selling products, but attach a nursing baby to that breast and it suddenly becomes obscene!

Last week Facebook removed this photo from Earth Mama Angel Baby’s Fan Page,

claiming it violated Facebook policies! This is a problem for all of us!

In case you missed my special TV episode last week, you can watch it here and listen to three amazing women I interviewed:

Facebook disgusts me with the removal of breastfeeding pictures but allows those of girls in skimpy clothing showing the same amount of skin (or more) with a totally different meaning. (sexually rather than naturally)

I’ve entered your contest for the second IPad and I’m so excited, hope I win. But anyways, I couldn’t agree more with this blog post. I was only able to breastfeed for a month at the most with all four of mine but even that little time I was amazed at some ppls views on it.
I also have to say that your episode that had Kari Bundy from Masons Cause was the most touching for me. She is a personal friend of a girl I went to school and I can remember when she put it on her Facebook about her friend losing her baby. It broke my heart. I couldn’t imagine the pain, but it warms my heart to see how that family has made something good out of something so horrible and painful. I will continue to spread the word about Mason’s Cause and your site. they are both wonderful and helpful sites.
